Sunu African Summer

This past Kwanzaa, my boyfriend gifted me a fascinating piece of jewelry from an event we attended at The African American Research Library in Fort Lauderdale. There were cultural vendors selling everything from precious & powerful gemstones to gorgeous Ankara print fabric by the yard and beyond! {~Let's just say I was in Culture Maven heaven OK!~}

We were mezmerized by one vendor in particular, a business called Sunu Africa, selling wares from the Motherland. The soft spoken Senegalese owner was so kind to us, we could barely leave her table and we definitely grabbed a few pieces. My absolute fave was a hand-crafted layered Ankara print necklace.

I've been waiting patiently for the right styling & timing to rock it {~ & is patience ever a virtue!~} so what better moment than with a saturated royal blue jumper?!! {~No brainer right!~} Not to mention these floral flats by Mossimo for Target are so comfy too!

I think it will be a Sunu African Summer because I will be doing my best to come hard with this original piece this wonderful season. Happy June Miami Culture Mavens!
